Family house in Hronov-Příčnice

Family house in Hronov-Příčnice
The family house stands on the outskirts of the town of Hronov in the Příčnice residential area among a cluster of family homes. The desire behind the design of the family house was to adapt to the conditions of typical developments in the area. There are many similar building locations like Příčnice in the Czech Republic, and they all have similar conditions for the construction of family houses. In the area, all the plots are approximately the same and have a similar size of about 800 m². Individually designed homes commonly built on similar sites do not provide residents with enough privacy. Creating sufficient privacy was the goal of the solution. The house is designed in the shape of an L and is quite divided in both its footprint and volume. The arrangement of the building creates various nooks on the plot - some open, some sheltered - that provide residents with privacy for typical family life. In the semi-courtyard, residents can sunbathe, sip tea and coffee, or grill without being disturbed by the views of people passing by on the street. The foundation of the house's mass is a two-story prism. Lower masses with shed roofs are attached to the prism. The interior is as complex as the basic shape of the house, featuring various views and passages to different levels. The aim of the design was to blur the boundary between the interior and exterior of the house. The ground floor concentrates the living area of the house with a connection to the garden. The upper floor contains the quiet area of the house with rooms and a bathroom. A carport is partially extended in front of the house. The structure of the house is masonry, finished with plaster. There are no exposed ceiling beams in the house.
