Family house in Mořina

The Náchod-Brno studio ARCHTEAM has become a renowned expert in the field of economical and quality housing during its existence. Its family homes have received several significant awards and are sought after by builders who can appreciate the spatial qualities of the house and simple architectural forms.
Low costs bring shorter design times. The only reasonable solution to provide a cheap yet quality house is to use a type project. Personally, I hate type projects, as they do not reflect either the character of the plot or the personality of the builder. It is a vicious circle that is hard to escape.
For a long time, I thought that there was no type of house that could be considered archetypal and universal. I had to reconsider my views when I first saw photographs of this house in Mořina near Karlštejn. I can imagine this house in many situations, and it always appears as a satisfactory solution. It is interesting, but universal forms probably do exist.

The house is located on a plot in the midst of a residential area of family houses. Its character meets the strict requirements of the Protected Landscape Area Český kras. The building has a compact impression, its expression is based on a simple cultivated shape and the composition of the windows.
The object is a single-story structure with a residential attic. The entire cladding of the house - the external walls and the roof sheath - are made of sandwich self-supporting panels of OSB boards with an insulation filling of polystyrene. This ensures excellent thermal insulation properties of the house
without thermal bridges - with low energy demands.
The openings are designed with regard to the cardinal directions and to connect the interior with the garden.
The house was designed with consideration for the economic possibilities of the young couple.
