Sauna

Sauna on the edge of the sloped plot of a family house with a cooling pool and a living terrace.

I am lighting the sauna. It's just a few steps through the garden from the house to the sauna. It's slippery; the garden is sloped, and the children have built a toboggan run there. The sauna is located on the very edge of the property, and nothing stands in the way of the run. A wooden cascade of steps and platforms of uniform footprint starts at the sauna and ends at a barrel, which can serve as a cooling pool or can be heated. The steps wrap around an existing tree. The cascade of steps also extends into the sauna, and the living steps for sauna bathing take material from outside the sauna, creating a shelter for wood storage.

Only the round window of the sauna illuminates the darkened garden.
