The company Keramika Soukup a.s. has been operating in the field of sales of ceramic tiles and sanitary ware since 1992. For many years, its headquarters was a showroom in Zličín, Prague. In 2017, the company decided to find more suitable spaces closer to the center of Prague, and the Aerohouse building in the heart of Karlín at Šaldova 12 was selected.
A completely new corporate identity was created for the showroom, the ideas of which were laid out during discussions on the first sketches of the interior. The name SOUKUP EXPERIENCE, along with a new logo, was intended to reflect the main ideas of the overall showroom concept – an innovative approach to product presentation, maximum emphasis on quality, and offering an exhibition space whose very visit is an unusual experience.
The showroom spans two floors. The entrance floor has generous display windows to the street and serves as a welcoming space with a total area of 165 m². It features a notable ceiling height and is conceptually designed as a loft apartment divided into four basic zones – living area, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom. This multifunctional space serves for meetings, discussions, and getting acquainted with SOUKUP EXPERIENCE.
The main exhibition area is located in the adjoining second floor, which is accessible via a staircase with a wooden neck, one of the main features of the lower floor. Given the limited space of the second floor (250 m²), it was necessary to address product presentation in a completely different way than is common for similar showrooms. A unique concept of rotating cylinders was designed, which maximally utilizes the area and guarantees an unexpected experience while walking through the showroom. A total of 11 cylinders create interesting views across the space, and due to their ability to rotate, the showroom is constantly changing. A new approach was also adopted in the "work" area, where samples of the complete range are offered on small cards, making it very easy to combine individual color and material combinations. The overall presentation options are complemented by a corner with functional faucets.
The terrace surrounding the second floor expands the exhibition area to the exterior – here, large format tiles measuring 3 x 1 m and products designed for outdoor use are displayed.
The material and color palette corresponds to the principle of SOUKUP EXPERIENCE – the main surfaces are designed in exclusive materials in shades of gray, black, and white complemented by natural wood. A large vertical garden with an embedded logo enlivens the lower floor.
