Wellness villa

Wellness villa
Collaboration:Eva Skurská, Michaela Vacková
Completion:2010

In the dense development on the outskirts of Brno, we designed a villa with maximum possible privacy while remaining open to its surroundings. It is a two-storey structure where we utilized a slight, yet real slope of the land to position the service areas and entrance part in the basement of the house. This allowed us to create a cohesive and horizontal garden area around which the main volume of the house wraps. Individual rooms are oriented towards the center of the garden, thus forming a cohesive functional scheme. The footprint of the building is in the shape of the letter "U". The living area is topped with a flat roof, and the roofing of the garage seamlessly connects to the grassy area on the first floor. The entrance to the building is at the half-level. A small vestibule leads to a spacious hallway, from where it is possible to access both the basement and the above-ground floor via the staircase. On the first above-ground floor, there is a large living space, which includes a dining room, kitchen, and study, and continues into a hallway that gradually connects to all rooms on this floor (a dressing room, restroom, laundry room, guest room with access to the atrium and a separate bathroom, as well as the main bathroom, bedroom, and children's room).
