Architects' and designers' views on the quality of buildings often differ significantly. Where do friction points arise between the architect's vision and the technical solutions of the construction engineer? On the relationship between architecture and design, representatives of both professional chambers will discuss on Tuesday, March 18 at 18:00 in the foyer of the Gallery of Modern Art in Hradec Králové: the Vice-Chairwoman of the Czech Chamber of Architects, Markéta Žáček Zdebská, and the former long-time Chairman of the professional activity of civil engineering of the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians active in construction, Pavel Štěpán.

In construction practice, we often encounter differing approaches to the quality of construction. Architects strive to create an environment that not only serves people but also inspires them, characterized by aesthetic value and enhancing their daily lives. Construction engineers, on the other hand, place emphasis on structural stability, established and tested procedures, and adherence to technical standards. These differing priorities can lead to mutual misunderstanding, sometimes even to irony or mutual underestimation. However, is it necessary to present the professions in mutual opposition?
