The short period between the two world wars was a space in which ideas about ideal ways to deal with the structure of historical cities crystallized. However, most new ideas faltered on the reality of ownership relations, which petrified the existing state and only occasionally gave way to extensive conceptual solutions. The destruction of many European cities during World War II or their depopulation gave rise to a completely unique situation. Reconstruction became a laboratory open to experimentation. The theme will be presented by the pedagogical and scientific worker of the Faculty of Architecture CTU, Assoc. Ing. Arch. Milena Hauserová, CSc.

Assoc. Ing. Arch. Milena Hauserová, CSc. is a respected figure not only at the Institute of Monument Care at the Faculty of Architecture CTU, where she has long been active, but also in the entire field of monument care and the history of architecture in our country. In addition to her primary area of expertise, which is medieval architecture with a specialization in the history of medieval urban houses and sacred architecture, she intensively studies the history of cultural landscapes, also engaging with theoretical questions of monument care and a number of other specialized topics including urbanism.
