In Veselí nad Moravou, the renovation of Míru Square has been completed after 15 years

Veselí nad Moravou – The renovation of the Míru Square in Veselí nad Moravou in the Hodonín region has been completed, with the city working on it for 15 years. The final phase included the construction of parking spaces, new sidewalks, and landscaping, at a cost of 20 million crowns. City representatives ceremoniously opened the square today, with an official opening for the public planned during the Sunday celebration of the 770th anniversary of the first seal mention of the city.

"The revitalization of Míru Square is one of the largest projects that our city has implemented in recent years. The first construction work began 15 years ago," pointed out the mayor of Veselí nad Moravou, Petr Kolář.

The final phase of the investment focused primarily on the area around the multifunctional building, post office, and Rozkvět hotel. New sidewalks, parking spaces, relaxation areas, and especially a piazzetta have been created, which is intended to serve as a central space for gatherings of residents and visitors. The modernized infrastructure also includes underground containers and new public lighting.

The last phase was preceded by the relocation of most engineering networks. In the first two phases of the repairs, a quiet zone was created in the square, containing areas for pedestrians and cyclists or spaces for cultural and social events. The construction work also includes a private investment in the construction of a multifunctional building with 70 apartments, commercial spaces on the ground floor, and underground garages.

About 11,500 residents live in Veselí nad Moravou. The city's budget for this year is approximately 450 million crowns in both revenue and expenditure.
