Biography
Egle Renata Trincanato was the first woman to graduate in architecture from IAUV in Venice in 1938. In 1937, she met Giuseppe Samonà and became his assistant for architectural design and heritage research in Venice. As part of her professional activities focused on social housing in the contemporary city, she studied and published her analysis of the secondary urban structure of Venice, and researchers also showcased her work at the 7th CIAM (1954) in Bergamo, Italy. Together with Giuseppe Samonà, she designed the INA social housing in Treviso (1949-53), the INAIL administrative building in Venice (1951-56), and collaborated on the experimental INA housing project in San Giuliano in Mestre, Italy (1954).
