The publishing house Druhé město has been publishing books since the beginning of 2006. Its owner is Martin Reiner (formerly Pluháček), and the publishing house is based in Brno. Druhé město replaced the defunct Petrov in the publishing market. Petrov, which operated in the Czech scene for fifteen years and gradually became one of the most significant Czech publishing houses, is similar to Druhé město in its editorial composition, focused on original Czech creations. It primarily differs in the scope of production, which is about a quarter, and also in that it focuses exclusively on publishing books and does not engage in any secondary cultural activities.
