České Budějovice - On September 27, a public, anonymous, project-based, two-round competition for the Center for Indoor Sports will be announced. We are still waiting for the final discussion in the city council on September 26.
The subject of the competition is the processing of the architectural design for the solution of the Center for Indoor Sports (hereinafter CHS), which is to be created on the site of the demolished existing sports hall. The construction site is located in the Dlouhá louka area on the left bank of the Vltava River, in close proximity to the historical center of the city of České Budějovice. The city intends to build a modern center for indoor sports that meets current and future requirements for elite, performance, and recreational sports, as well as enables the organization of social events with high spectator attendance. Details are provided in the document P.01 Competition Brief. In the I. round, the emphasis will be placed on the overall urban-architectural solution with regard to the integration of the building into the relationships and contexts of the site; in the II. round, selected solutions will be developed to the level of architectural solutions that create the prerequisites for the assignment of project documentation.
