PRAGUE - A photography exhibition of architecture in Central Europe is being held from today at the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery in Prague, an exhibition space specialized in the presentation of architecture. Czech photographers represented in the selection include Ester Havlová and Filip Šlapal. The exhibition titled Form and Nonform will last until January 1, 2006.

In addition to the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia are each represented by two photographers. The architecture of each country is represented by five photographs of buildings. From the Czech Republic, these include a chapel in a retirement home in České Budějovice, the interior of the Soundsquare Production company in Prague, the Czech pavilion at Expo 2005, a photo of the roof and exterior staircase at Orlík Castle, and the Prague residential complex Villa Park Strahov.
According to its authors, the exhibition aims to explore the relationship between architecture and its environment through photography. The curators wanted to present architecture as seen through the subjective filter of the photographer - an ordinary viewer cannot perceive architecture without considering the environment in which the building is located. The chosen formats of the images in the exhibition enhance the feeling of alienation, while also emphasizing selected aspects of reality.
