The exhibition "The Story of the Wittal Villa" opens the doors to a unique Brno villa, whose history is intertwined with the fates of its inhabitants and the transformations of the 20th century. In the authentic environment of the functionalist house, designed by architect Heinrich Blum for the family of Johann Wittal, visitors will gain insight into the life of the entrepreneurial Wittal family, learn about the fate of their family business, dramatic events associated with World War II, and ultimately the post-war period. Through personal testimonies, the exhibition maps not only the architectural and social significance of the villa but also its gradual transformation – from a family residence to a property confiscated by the Gestapo, to post-war use of the building by political representatives of the city, and finally to its upcoming role as a place of remembrance and education.
