The first building designed by a former Koolhaas associate will be taller than originally planned. The Museum Plaza, a multifunctional complex that, when built, will become the tallest building in Louisville, will be a bit taller. The riverside project by Joshua Prince-Ramus, former director of New York's OMA and current head of REX, will rise from 21 to 61 floors. The complex consists of four distinct legs, each with a different function, connected by a multi-story arts center and a one-acre garden on the 22nd floor. A non-profit multimedia gallery will be located here. Additionally, there will be 300,000 square feet of office space, 150 apartments, 85 lofts, a 300-room hotel, a variety of shops, and entertainment venues. The University of Louisville will house its master’s program for future artists within the complex. Completion of the project is expected in 2010. Link>
