The Stockholm architect Petra Kipp designed a new headquarters for a company creating audiovisual devices and synthesizers for over forty years in the capital of the Swedish province of Östergötlandslän. The building is situated between open pastures and the Mjärdevi technology park. The floor plan is in the shape of an equilateral triangle with sloping walls, from which black-framed windows and doors protrude. The main load-bearing structure is made of exposed concrete, the interior is lined with plywood panels, and the outer shell consists of rough tar paper. The resulting sculptural shape corresponds to the harsh location and the given construction program. The northern part of the building consists of twelve individual workspaces and two shared meeting rooms, each offering a direct view of the landscape. The center of the house is a workshop, where the creative process of making devices takes place. However, the space can also serve for various cultural and artistic activities for visitors from around the world.
