Architectural studio Klaus Kada informed at the end of last year about a new entrance building for the exhibition center in Nuremberg and concurrently about a project for a new trade fair center in Salzburg. The architects secured this commission last September through an architectural competition. The hall, covering an area of 15,000 m², is set to be completed this November. The task was to build a trade fair center with a foyer, multifunctional hall, meeting rooms, and service facilities, which according to the authors will form a "self-sufficient unit within the existing trade fair complex. The compact roofing is intended to unify the heterogeneous trade fair area. The project spreads a relatively large area across two height levels and initiates a dialogue between the interior and exterior. While the ground-floor foyer invites passersby to visit, the cantilevered upper floor provides a space for negotiations, and the large panoramic window offers views of the trade fair promenade and lively outdoor activity. From the foyer, three generously conceived entrances lead into the multifunctional hall. The maximally compact mass ensures an elegant appearance and low operating costs. Additionally, the project will be completed in a record short time.” > More information
