Boskovice - Boskovice in the Blansko region is reconstructing its summer cinema for 25 million crowns. The first phase, costing 12 million crowns, which concerned the auditorium, is completed. Its capacity has increased to 2000 seats, said Hana Nedomová (ČSSD), the mayor, to ČTK today. Further phases are planned to improve the facilities, the projection wall, and the parking lot.

The first phase was supported by the Ministry of Culture with four million crowns and the South Moravian Region with two million crowns. "The auditorium has been reconstructed. The number of seating has increased from 1500 to 1800, and there are an additional 200 standing places," Nedomová stated.

According to her, the subsequent phases will be realized depending on how much money is available in the budget. "The city budget is around 350 million crowns per year, with about 70 million crowns allocated for investments, so it is not an insignificant amount. However, we want to create a projection wall, a projection screen, fencing, and facilities for actors, as the greenhouse building is currently being used," the mayor said. The city will also seek additional funding.

According to Nedomová, the natural amphitheater can serve not only as a summer cinema but also for various genres and singers. "We will have a concert by Ewa Farna or Vojta Dyk there," Nedomová added.

Boskovice is located more than ten kilometers north of Blansko and about 30 kilometers north of Brno. Last year, around 11,500 residents lived in the city.
