The January program of the project Brno plays CITY focuses on the future direction of the city and, in this context, prepares a public discussion about the architectural future and the urban vision of Brno, which will take place on Saturday, January 28 at 6 PM in the Small Lecture Hall of the House of Lords from Kunštát. On the same day, a workshop connecting street art and graffiti with the issues of the visual aspect of public space will also take place at 4AM/Architecture Gallery.

The student project Brno plays CITY, which is being created with the support of the Vodafone Foundation Czech Republic and 4AM/Forum for Architecture and Media, aims to generate interest in Brno's architecture and urbanism, thereby expanding awareness of these topics. Over five months - from September to January - we offered a rich program in the form of lectures, guided tours, discussions, and workshops dedicated primarily to architecture from the interwar period to urban forecasts of Brno's future. The January program concludes the first phase of the project, which will be followed by Brno plays CITY and Discover the Creator of Your City starting February 1.

Discussion on the architectural future of Brno will take place on Saturday, January 28 at 6 PM in the Small Lecture Hall of the House of Lords from Kunštát. Topics related to urban planning, Brno's vision, or the fates of future Brno construction or industrial heritage will be discussed by Roman Čerbák (National Heritage Institute, 4AM/Forum for Architecture and Media), Petr Hrůša (Architects Hrůša & Co.), Ivana Tošovská (Fiedler reality), and several representatives from the Brno City Hall have also been invited. The discussion will be moderated by young Brno architect Michal Kristof (Chybík+Kristof Associated Architects).

Street art: Workshop will also take place on Saturday, January 28 at 11 AM at 4AM/Architecture Gallery. Under the guidance of two young artists, street art and graffiti will be connected with the issues of the visual aspect of public space – specifically the underpass beneath the Brno railway station.
The workshop aims to devise a way to enhance the aesthetic experience of such a busy space as the underpass beneath the station, through which hundreds of people pass daily. The specific form and appearance of the installation, as well as its placement in the given space, will only be clear after the workshop ends. Workshop participants will thus experience the role of street art artists and contribute to improving the appearance of Brno.

Registration can be done via email (the workshop capacity is 15 people).
