Brno - Brno will repair the Vyškov Depository for 13 million crowns, which is under the Museum of the City of Brno. The city is the founder of the museum. It will try to obtain a grant from the State Environmental Fund, said today the mayor's deputy responsible for investments, Richard Mrázek (YES). The depository building is set to undergo insulation and window replacement. According to Mrázek, the exact schedule for the reconstruction is not yet known.
The grant could cover most of the costs. "We can obtain up to 80 percent. However, we will carry out the work regardless of whether we receive the grant or not. It is city property, and we must take care of it. But it would, of course, be better with the grant," Mrázek stated.
The Museum of the City of Brno took over the depository in 2012. It is intended for storing collection items. It houses the collection funds of all the museum’s professional departments. However, for full use of the building, it is necessary to carry out insulation of the facade, including the roof, and to replace the windows.
According to the press center of the municipality, the existing thermal insulation properties of the outer facade and the roof are completely inadequate for the use of the building, and insulation is essential. "The reason is not only the enormous heat losses of the building, but primarily the fact that the storage of collection items in depositories is subject to specific environmental conditions. The optimal conditions for storage are temperatures between 18 to 20 degrees Celsius and humidity levels between 40 to 50 percent," the press center stated.
