Brno will reconstruct Zábrdovická Street including the bridge for 194 million

Brno councilors today approved the selection of the contractor. The work will be carried out by the Zábrdovická Company, which includes Firesta-Fišer, reconstruction, construction, Dopravní stavby Brno, and Eurovia CS. In addition to the surfaces, the reconstruction will involve the sewer system, water supply, the bridge over the river, and overhead wiring.

The steam pipeline will be replaced with a hot water pipeline, the tram track will be soundproofed, and barrier-free stops will be built near the Military Hospital. The revival of public spaces will also consider the inclusion of pedestrians and cyclists. "In the schedule of major transportation constructions, the building of a large urban ring at Tomkovo náměstí is approaching, for which it is essential to prepare detour routes. That is why we repaired the intersection of Karlova and Provazníkovy last year, we are currently working on Valchařská and after its completion, we will start the reconstruction of Zábrdovická," Mrázek stated.

According to him, Zábrdovická is one of the most important arteries connecting the city center with Stará osada and part of Líšeň. "There will definitely be pressure to complete the construction as soon as possible. The deadline is very tight," Mrázek added.

Before the traffic restrictions come into effect on Zábrdovická, the contractor will work on monitoring and remediation measures in the summer, which is necessary due to the deep positioning of the sewer system. The transfer hub in Stará osada will be moved to Juliánov during the works. Replacement transport will also include trains. The city will publish the traffic restrictions before the construction starts on the website.
