Česká Třebová - Česká Třebová wants to beautify the appearance of the noise barriers along the railway line that will be built during the modernization of the railway hub in the city. It is collaborating with the Railway Administration, which is the investor of the costly modifications amounting to nearly 20 billion crowns. The project documentation proposed double-sided absorptive panels without a specification of the surface treatment, the city stated.

The city architect, in cooperation with the Railway Administration and the contractor, is proposing a fully rubberized finish, which offers great possibilities for suitable graphic design. The aim is to graphically process the relief surface so that the noise barriers appear unobtrusive. "We want them to look like they are not in the city. That is why two variants were chosen, where the façade paint is applied according to a matrix provided by the architect in the contractor's workshops. The matrix aims to visually break up the area of the wall," stated city architect Štěpán Eliáš.

Currently, two variants of the noise barriers' appearance are being developed. The first uses a gradient motif, where the colored areas lighten towards the bottom, while the second employs a wave motif that progresses from one block to another. The city hall is also addressing the preparation for vegetation growth with the contractor, where guiding systems for climbing plants can be pre-prepared.

Compared to the original project of the Railway Administration presented in 2018, the lengths and heights of the walls have been significantly reduced. The installation of rail absorbents is also expected to reduce noise.
