Brno – A housing development with 220 apartments has recently begun construction in the Brno district of Lesná by the development company MS-Invest. The six-story building with six entrances is expected to be completed by the end of 2029. The developer announced this in a press release.
"Construction has already begun, and excavation work is currently underway. The building will have six above-ground floors and two underground levels, where there will be basements and parking spaces," said the company’s marketing manager Jitka Sedláková.
The building opposite the Cosmonde cosmetics factory will offer apartments of all layouts, from the smallest studio apartments to family apartments with five rooms. On the ground floor of one of the entrances, the developer plans to include a space for a children's group. As part of the project, a green internal courtyard will be created.
"The apartments in the project are equipped to modern standards. They feature, among other things, ceiling heating and cooling, windows with insulating triple glazing with external blinds, and floating vinyl floors," added Sedláková.
The Brno district of Lesná, which is part of the Brno-north administrative district, consists mainly of housing estates built in the 1960s and 1970s. The estate is considered urbanistically the most successful due to its large amount of greenery, closeness to nature, and good transport accessibility to the city center. The original estate has been supplemented by additional residential buildings in recent decades.
The average price of new apartments in Brno rose by 12.5 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of this year to 158,600 korunas per square meter, the development company Trikaya reported at the end of July. At the same time, sales of new apartments increased by 40 percent compared to the second quarter of last year. The supply of apartments is now nearly double.
