This Thursday, September 19, 2019, the Czech premiere of the exceptional film The Human Shelter by Danish director Boris Bertram will warm up the Prague cinema Světozor. The screening will take place with the participation of the curator of the Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam, Jord den Hollander, and Czech architecture promoter Adam Gebrian, followed by a discussion. The award-winning documentary showcases how different people live in various corners of the world. It begins in Norway and ends in Iceland, with stops in New York, a refugee camp in Iraq, NASA accommodations in Hawaii, a tiny apartment in Tokyo, and a hut in Nigeria.

Thursday night will also serve as a warm-up for the festivals Day of Architecture and Film and Architecture, which will take place from October 1 to 7, 2019, in over a hundred cities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The general public will be presented with a new perspective on the architecture that surrounds us. Visitors can look forward to tours of otherwise inaccessible buildings as well as walks through both well-known and unknown places with engaging commentary from experts.

The film The Human Shelter will also be screened in other cities in the Czech Republic as part of the Film and Architecture festival. On October 6, it will be shown again in Prague, this time with internationally acclaimed director Boris Bertram personally in attendance. The main partner of the film screening is IKEA Czech Republic. Tickets are available in advance.
