Krnov (Bruntál Region) – The Krnov Town Hall sold seven apartment buildings in a dilapidated area around Mánesova, Vrchlického, and Alšova streets. A private investor paid 14.2 million crowns without VAT for the properties, including the adjacent land. Within five years, 60 rental apartments of various sizes and layouts are expected to be created in the buildings. This was stated by the city's spokesperson Dita Círová.

The buyer is the company Projekt Byty Krnov. Its representative Martin Vojta stated that the company will renovate the first three buildings within three years from the signing of the purchase agreement. They have an additional two years to repair the remaining four buildings. However, any delays caused by the state administration during the issuance of the necessary permits are not included in this timeframe. In total, more than 60 rental apartments of various layouts are expected to be created in the buildings. "The goal of the project is to maintain the original character and division of the individual houses," added architect Petr Kalivoda, who is a co-author of the architectural design.

The sale concluded a multi-year process during which multiple solution options were considered. "The city leadership has long considered how to deal with the excluded area of Alšova, Mánesova, Vrchlického streets, which has been in very poor technical condition for a long time. After the initial decision to demolish, the city councilors decided to sell the entire area," stated Deputy Mayor Miroslav Binar (ANO).

City representatives then sought a way to sell the buildings. They wanted to minimize the risk of creating an excluded area again and find a reliable investor who would give the buildings and their surroundings a new face. "Therefore, we decided to contact a law firm that has experience in coordinating sales, presenting to and reaching out to investors and developers at the national level, as well as preparing the entire project and contractual documentation," said the deputy mayor. According to him, the entire process was very time-consuming. The auction itself took place a few weeks ago, he said.
