We invite you to a discussion with architects and mayors of Czech cities about the conditions of public architectural competitions. On Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 7:00 PM at the Czech Center, Rytířská 31, Prague.
The evening will be hosted by the news moderator of Czech Television and architecture enthusiast Jakub Železný.
Organizing anonymous public architectural competitions is worthwhile!
In the Czech Republic, anonymous architectural competitions are as rare as hen's teeth. This event aims to support more intensive holding of architectural competitions within the Czech Republic and to convey a picture of overall happenings in various parts of the Czech Republic according to representatives of individual cities.
The discussion is to showcase experiences, insights, and the development of cities following the holding of competitions from the perspective of mayors, their architects, and in cooperation with the Czech Chamber of Architects. Mayors from the towns of Vodňany, Planá near Mariánské Lázně, Písek, and Planá nad Lužnicí, as well as architectural offices Xtopix, Edit!, and Atelier Vltava will participate in the debates.
The presentation "The Shine and Shame of Czech Architectural Competitions" - discussion with mayors and architects builds on the related topic from the first debate in spring 2014, which it further develops based on specific projects.
