Galerie VI PER Vás invites you to a discussion on the Inaccessibility of Housing in the Czech Republic, which is an accompanying program of the exhibition "What is the problem? Homelessness between Prague and New York."
What is the current situation regarding housing inaccessibility in the Czech Republic? And do we have social housing? What is Housing First, and can we find this approach in the Czech Republic? Why was the Platform for Social Housing established, what are its current activities, and what is the goal of the initiative Housing for All? We will discuss these and other questions with Barbora Bírová, the director of the Platform for Social Housing, and David Valouch, an advisor for Housing First and ending homelessness.
Barbora Bírová is the director of the Platform for Social Housing and co-author of the publication „Systematic solutions for housing emergencies of families and individuals at the municipal level. Suggestions and recommendations for cities and municipalities with a high rate of housing emergencies," which serves as a practical guide for officials and policymakers in establishing a system to reduce housing emergencies at the municipal level. She has long focused on the topic of systematic ending of homelessness.
David Valouch is an advisor for ending homelessness and a Housing First consultant. He has long been involved in the development of the Housing First model in the Czech Republic and helps teams with the implementation of projects.
