Prague - The architectural studio of Josef Pleskot will prepare an urban study concerning the future appearance of the green hill Parukářka. The Žižkov City Hall will pay 1.2 million crowns excluding VAT for the proposal. This decision was made by the local council. CTK learned this from the resolution. The future of Parukářka has been discussed for several years.

"Parukářka is a large park in the center of the district, we have contacted architect Josef Pleskot to help us with the division of the space,"
said mayor Vladislava Hujová (TOP 09) in an interview with CTK. "We want mothers with children, dog owners, people who want to grill something, and those looking for seating at refreshments to all find their place and not interfere with each other, so that everyone has their own space and their interests do not overlap," the mayor added.

Strong emotions were stirred among locals in the past, primarily due to the planned demolition of the refreshments facility at the Hill of the Holy Cross. According to the authorities, the building is dangerous. The city hall is preparing to construct a new refreshments facility and has had a study prepared for this since last year. Only when it is clear when the new building will rise will the existing pub be closed and demolished. "We would like people not to lose their opportunity for seating, and for the individual steps to flow smoothly into each other," the mayor added.

The construction of refreshments on Parukářka is closely linked to a development project at Jeseniova 38, according to opposition councilor Ondřej Ruta (ŽnS). "The city hall wants to connect the new refreshments to the electrical cable via the developer's land. Therefore, it has signed a cooperation agreement with the developer, in which both parties have mutually given their consent to the territorial and building proceedings for both constructions in advance. While the cable could lead another way, the proceedings would indeed be prolonged by several months, but the city hall would not have to bow in advance to the oversized building," the councilor claims.

Architect Pleskot is among the most famous and respected Czech creators. For his realizations, he has received numerous awards, and his buildings regularly represent Czech architecture at international exhibitions. In 2014, he was awarded the title Architect of the Year, primarily for the unique revitalization of the post-industrial district of the Lower Area of Vitkovice.
