Milan Babuška

Prague - 125 years ago, on November 20, 1884, the leading Czech architect Milan Babuška was born. He specialized mainly in projects for public buildings, primarily schools, and industrial constructions.

His designs included, for example, industrial buildings of the ironworks in Podbrezová or a complex of buildings for Masaryk's deep mine in Břešťany near Most. Among other things, he also designed spa buildings, such as in Jáchymov or Velichovky, while he designed relatively few family and residential houses.
Although his buildings are scattered almost throughout the whole country, the undoubtedly most famous ones are located on Letná Plain in Prague. These are the late functionalist buildings of the National Technical Museum and the National Agricultural Museum, built in the late 1930s. The author passed away on October 17, 1953.
