Jihlava – This afternoon, one of the workers died during the construction of the Horácká multifunctional arena. According to rescue spokesperson Petr Janáček, the man's death may have been caused by an electric current. The exact cause of the man's death is being investigated by the police, said police spokesperson Jana Kroutilová. No further details regarding the circumstances of the accident were provided.
"In the afternoon, the man sustained severe injuries while performing work activities and died on the spot," Kroutilová added.
Rescue services were called to the site before 14:00. "We dispatched a medical team from Jihlava to the scene. Unfortunately, the injured person showed no signs of life, and the summoned doctor only confirmed the death," Janáček said.
The construction of the arena began a year ago with the demolition of the old ice hockey stadium, at the site of which a new multifunctional complex is being built for 1.9 billion crowns.
