Buildings that were completed or put into trial operation from January 2020 to this April could be entered into the competition. The results of the 20th anniversary edition were announced yesterday by the organizers in Pacov.
The new building of the district department of the Czech Police in Velké Meziříčí received the title of Building of the Year in the region among civic buildings. According to the expert committee, it is a modern administrative building with a quality layout and operational solution.
The renovation of the football cabins of TJ Sokol in Sobíňov was rated the best in the category of sports buildings. The committee awarded it the title for its original conception. The cabins were built next to the field instead of the original facilities, which had to be demolished due to their technical condition.
The exhibition of construction projects is organized by the Vysočina Building Association in cooperation with the Association of Entrepreneurs in Construction, the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians in Construction (ČKAIT), and the Vysočina Region. Individual awards from ČKAIT and the Association of Entrepreneurs in Construction went to the restoration of a windmill in Třebíč; this technical monument belongs to the city.
Over 20 years, the competition has featured 398 projects. A total of 86 titles of Building of the Year in the region have been awarded according to the organizers. Last year, the buildings of the region included the constructed sports facilities in Nové Město na Moravě and Třebíč, an exhibition at Roštejn Castle near Telč, and the road bypass of Velký Beranov in the Jihlava region. Experts evaluated 18 buildings last year.
