The Building of the Year in the Central Bohemian Region is the Residence U Kazínské skály in Černošice.

Kutná Hora – The main prize in the Building of the Year competition for the Central Bohemia Region 2023 was awarded to the Residence at Kazínské Skály in Černošice near Prague. The jury appreciated its architectural and urban planning concept. The Governor's prize for the greatest contribution to the region went to Farm Vraňany, and the public's choice award was given to three buildings: the Folk House in Zaječov, the Residential Buildings at Mýtka in Stará Boleslav, and the Extension of the Primary School in Mnichovice. The results of the competition were announced last night at the Central Bohemian Gallery in Kutná Hora.

The jurors visited all 38 registered buildings during the evaluation, accompanied by a film crew preparing a documentary about the buildings in the Central Bohemian Region. The winning Residence at Kazínské Skály was described by experts as an exceptionally conceived housing project both urbanistically and architecturally. "The building, in terms of mass, materials, and its placement in the environment, is a timeless example of a modern form of residential living," stated the jurors. The structure was built on the site of an old warehouse complex and consists of four three-story villas with views of Kazínská and Hladká skála.

This year, the jury primarily selected among buildings designed for residential purposes. There were also projects related to transportation and public infrastructure, civic amenities, and more. Renovations and restorations slightly outnumbered new constructions.

The expert jury also awarded additional honors. The Governor's prize for an outstanding personality in construction was awarded to Václav Mach, the honorary chairman of the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians working in construction. The Special Prize for the realization of a recreational area was given to the Natural Swimming Biotope in Kosmonosy, and the Special Prize for a comprehensive approach to landscape creation was awarded to the Riverside Cycle Path in Mladá Boleslav.
