The Dancing House was acquired by the Prague Property Management

Prague - The new owner of the Prague Dancing House is the Prague Property Management, owned by real estate entrepreneur Václav Skala. The transaction price is not known, but it is known that it was higher than a quarter of a billion crowns. The daily E15 reports this, referring to a source familiar with the transaction process.

About ten investors were interested in the building, mostly from the Czech Republic. One of them was the development company Central Group, which initially offered a quarter of a billion crowns for the house. "We subsequently rounded our offer a bit, but we didn't want to overpay anyone,” said Central Group owner Dušan Kunovský to the newspaper. E15 was unable to obtain a statement from the Prague Property Management.
The Dancing House on Prague's Rašínovo nábřeží was completed in 1996. It has appeared on the market for the first time since then. The previous owner was CBRE Global Investors, which acquired the building in 2011 during the takeover of European and Asian assets of ING Real Estate Investment Management.
The modern building filled a gap left by a historic house that was struck by American bombardment at the end of World War II. The Dancing House was designed by architects Vlado Milunić together with Frank O. Gehry, who was invited to the project by the investor. The interiors of the investor's offices were partly entrusted to the British architect of Czech origin, Eva Jiřičná.
The building has nine floors with a vertical division into two parts. Due to the shape of the building, each floor is different. The building offers usable space of 2,965 square meters of office space on six floors, a restaurant with an area of 679 square meters on the top floor, and a conference center (400 square meters) on the ground floor and basement.
