Brno - With the opening of the Czech Architecture Award 2025 exhibition today, the Brno HUB of Architecture will open its doors to the public. On the ground floor of the building on Starobrněnská Street, it will offer space for educational programs, seminars, or lectures on architecture and urbanism along with an exhibition space of the Architecture Gallery. This was announced in a press release by representatives of the Czech Architecture Foundation, which is located in the building.
"I perceive the opening of the Architecture HUB and the relocation of the Architecture Gallery to the ground floor as a fundamental step. A place is being created at one of the most important pedestrian arteries of the center of Brno that prioritizes culture, education, and sharing over commercial functions. This is absolutely exceptional in the Czech context," said the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Czech Architecture Foundation, architect Ludvík Grym.
The HUB, which will also include a new café Punkt., will serve as a creative center for architecture and related fields. It aims to connect architectural studios, cultural institutions, a media library, cafés, and networking spaces. "The HUB offers facilities for architects, urban planners, landscape architects, designers, developers, and students, creating conditions for interdisciplinary collaboration, education, and the emergence of new projects," Grym added.
The Architecture Gallery will kick off its program with the opening of the Czech Architecture Award 2025 exhibition. Visitors will see the winning House for Julia in a spatial presentation, alongside other awarded projects displayed on panels. The Czech Architecture Award is announced by the Czech Chamber of Architects.
