Kladno – The use of the Kladno land, where a high-rise building could be constructed, will be determined by a binding territorial study. The sale of the area in the Kročehlavy district will be approved by the councilors, said Kladno mayor Milan Volf (Choice for Kladno) to ČTK. The plot covers an area of 7000 square meters, and the city could obtain around 60 million crowns, including contributions for infrastructure, according to earlier information.
The city hall will set strict conditions for the study under which construction will be possible on the land, including the number of floors and other regulations. The date when a final decision will be made on the sale has not yet been determined. "Let's say we are not rushing with the sale," the mayor said, adding that negotiations continue.
The consideration for the sale of the land began with the now-former city leadership last summer. It is currently unused, and the new building could house apartments and offices. According to the investor's proposal, the building could be about 80 meters tall, and the first sketch was inspired by Chicago skyscrapers. Kladno native Antonín Čermák served as mayor of Chicago from 1931 to 1933, and the building could bear his name.
