Přerov - The most significant architectural and artistic objects built in the area of the former Přerov district between 1914 and 1948 are gradually documented in a new architectural manual (AMOP). Selected objects are connected to thematic trails and trips, which, with the help of an interactive map, guide interested parties through individual towns, as well as between municipalities. The database is also supplemented by profiles of selected architects and other important personalities of the region. The manual is expected to display a total of around 150 objects, project manager Jana Kiesewetterová told ČTK today.

"With its concept, AMOP connects to the Brno Architectural Manual and thus joins other architectural manuals created across the Czech Republic. The foundation of the database consists of original texts that capture a brief history and architectural values of selected objects, the life stories of their owners and architects. An integral part includes both contemporary and archival photographic and planning documentation," described the project's concept its manager.

The unique manual will be created over four years; 24 objects have already been processed on the database pages, and by the end of this year, there should be 90. Interested parties can sort them by city, architect, or typology. Experts have already processed the history of two spa houses in Teplice nad Bečvou for the manual, the history of the Baťa department store in Hranice, the Jordan in Přerov, the Sokolovna in Kojetín and Lipník nad Bečvou, several family villas, as well as significant buildings at the railway station in Hranice and Teplice nad Bečvou, and the history of the military mausoleum in Hranice. Period photographs are accompanied by contemporary images.

The creation of the Architectural Manual of the Přerov district is supported by members of the association Za krásnou Olomouc; according to the creators, it is exceptional in that it documents the building culture of not just one city, but the entire Přerov region - it captures objects in Hranice, Kojetín, Lipník nad Bečvou, Přerov, and Teplice nad Bečvou. This unique database will be supplemented over the next four years with educational activities for schools and the general public.

With its concept, AMOP directly connects to the Brno Architectural Manual (BAM) and thus joins other architectural manuals created throughout the Czech Republic. Similarly, architectural and artistic objects in Zlín, Jihlava, and Tišnov have been processed in Moravia.
