COOPLANNING series: continues on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 7.00PM with the lecture "JAN PFEIFFER - WORK" held by Czech artist JAN PFEIFFER. The works by Jan Pfeiffer are based on his effort to generalize everyday situations and the way they are experienced; it is his notion of the experience and the way it is documented that become the confronted object. Pfeiffer employs photography, video, drawing and animation as a tool of documentation further elaborated in the concept of his exhibitions and forms of presentation. The point of departure is the topos in the sense of a place or a mental scheme. Most of Pfeiffer’s works are related to a certain locality or even a trajectory of movement. His sometimes schematically strict treatment ofthe themes leads to surprisingly sensitive principles of generalization; even to a certain automatism of the message carried by the works in gallery realizations. What is crucial in Pfeiffer’s works is the resonance produced by the clash between the record and the presentation of the “examined object”. Drawings of places he has never been to and the photographs of which he has not studied beforehand can serve as an example. With respect to the solitary nature of the projects, it is the very artist who becomes an object. We look forward to seeing you at ARCHIP, Františka Křížka 1, Prague 7 - Letná, free admission.
