We invite you to a lecture by Irena Fialová and Jana Tichá D3A and other books, which will take place today, November 19, 2009, at 18:30 at VŠUP (J. Palacha Square 80, Prague 1) in classroom No. 115 on the 1st floor.

Irena Fialová and Jana Tichá, authors of several publications on contemporary architecture, will present the work of the Prague architectural office D3A in their lecture, whose monograph entitled D3A: Living Architecture was recently published by Zlatý řez with the support of VŠUP. They will also speak about their experiences in popularizing contemporary architecture in the form of books and exhibitions that do not reduce architecture to lifestyle issues, but strive to convey it in all its complexity.

Irena Fialová
is an architect and teaches theory and history of urbanism at the Faculty of Architecture of ČVUT. As the first representative of the Czech Republic, she became a member of the international jury for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture. She is the author of the books Golden Angel: Jean Nouvel in Prague (2000) and Dancing House (2003). Together with Jana Tichá, she co-authored the guide to contemporary architecture in Prague PRG 2021: contemporary architecture (2007), and Martin Rajniš: Natural Architecture (2008).

Jana Tichá graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University, specializing in the history and theory of art. She is the director of the publishing house Zlatý řez and the editor-in-chief of the magazine of the same name. As an editor, she prepared anthologies of theoretical texts Architecture on the Threshold of the Information Age (2001) and Architecture in the Information Age (2006). She is a co-author of the book PRG 2021: contemporary architecture (2007), Martin Rajniš: Natural Architecture (2008).
