The lecture focuses on churches and chapels from the Baroque period, which can be classified into certain types. Throughout the evening, it will be shown which of them were most commonly used in Bohemia and Moravia in the 17th century. The contribution will attempt to explain why specific types of buildings were chosen in particular situations. The issue will be demonstrated, among other examples, using the church of St. Michael in Olomouc, and at the conclusion, the lecture will draw attention to long-discussed controversial points among researchers regarding the typology.
