Rudiš+Rudiš: The Way to Housing

We cordially invite you to a joint lecture by Brno architects Viktor Rudiš and Martin Rudiš on living and working in their studio Rudiš - Rudiš architects.

The lecture is part of the course Building Science II, organized by the Institute of Building Science, and is publicly accessible.

Architect Viktor Rudiš was born in 1927 in Brno, where he graduated in 1952 from the Faculty of Architecture at VUT in Brno in the class of Professor Bedřich Rozehnal. From 1953 to 1957, he worked at the Research Institute of Construction and Architecture in Brno, and since 1958 he has been involved with the local Stavoprojekt. Martin Rudiš was born in 1955 in Brno. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at VUT in Brno in 1982. After his studies, he worked in Stavoprojekt Brno. Since 1989, he has been a member of the Czech Chamber of Architects. In 1992, he founded the Rudiš - Rudiš architects studio with his father Viktor Rudiš. In 2002, Viktor Rudiš ended his active involvement in the studio. The studio's portfolio includes family houses, apartment buildings, exhibition objects, and focuses on the reconstruction of public and residential buildings. The diversity and varying sizes of tasks encompass a comprehensive approach to all aspects of design creation. Their work is informed by experiences in a range of areas of design and implementations of different scales and types. The studio places main emphasis on the conceptual content, rationality, durability of buildings, and sober aesthetics. Some of the completed buildings have received nationwide acclaim and prestigious architectural awards.
