VVP AVU is pleased to invite you to a lecture from the series Wednesdays at AVU, which will focus this semester on the history of exhibitions:
TOMÁŠ WINTER BETWEEN TRADITION AND INNOVATION THE EXHIBITIONS OF THE GROUP OF FINE ARTISTS IN PRAGUE 1912–1914
March 18, 2015, 18:00 Academy of Fine Arts in Prague U Akademie 4, auditorium - 3rd floor
The lecture will focus on four Prague exhibitions of the Group of Fine Artists, each of which had a specific concept reflected directly in the installation. Members of the Group, developing cubism, navigated between historical tradition and the radicality of stylistic expression. How apparent were these and other tendencies in the exhibitions? To what extent and how effectively does the exhibition represent and mediate a specific theoretical model of creation?
Organized by the Research Institute of AVU in cooperation with the Department of Theory and History of Art at AVU Technical support by Digilab AVU. Online stream ČT24 as part of the I-Broadcasting of Czech Television
