Vladimír Sittawill give a lecture"Inter-Lands" at VŠUP on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at 18:30 in lecture room 115 as part of a series of lectures on urbanism. A talk about architecture, which is singular, whether it has a ceiling or not, about the relationship between the house and the landscape, and city and landscape, as well as landscape and landscape. And about man... between the lands...
Vladimír Sitta studied landscape architecture and gardening at MZLU in Lednice/Brno. He left normalized Czechoslovakia and after a three-year intermezzo of life and work in East Germany, he finally settled in 1981 among the antipodes. In Australia, he founded his own studio Terragram in 1985. In his thinking and work, he systematically tries to ignore the boundaries of conventionally understood categories of "landscape architecture", architecture, and urbanism. Terragram has left its mark not only in Australia but also in Europe, China, Singapore,... Thanks to frequent collaboration with other architectural offices, Vladimír Sitta will open a window into the Australasian architectural scene through his lecture, not only through the work at Terragram.
