Are you interested in global trends in the design of healthy buildings, technical insights in architecture, or the energy efficiency of buildings? The informal social gathering Healthy Home Academy 2017 is designed for you, offering not only a series of short presentations or a professional discussion forum but also gastronomic experiences linked with good food and wine in a friendly atmosphere.

This year’s edition of the Healthy Home Academy combines popular professional talks in a "TED" style with a social soirée, complemented by quality gastronomy. You will meet interesting personalities from Czech and world architecture, have space for mutual discussion, and get acquainted with new trends in the field—all in a pleasant informal atmosphere.

"Our goal within the Healthy Home Academy was to create an informal professional platform for all interested in healthy living, where they could discover new trends in a pleasant manner, meet personalities in the field, and simply enjoy the afternoon in the company of good food and drink. We certainly do not want to overwhelm anyone with an endless series of lectures, but rather offer suitable space for participants to mutually discuss the topics," stated Klára Bukolská, chief architect of VELUX ČR.

Inspiring Afternoon and Interesting Guests

The main theme of the Healthy Home Academy 2017 is healthy living, which invited guests will discuss in a unique way from various perspectives. In addition to short presentations, there is an accompanying program that includes an installation live show, virtual reality, or the latest daylight simulation technology. Several interesting personalities will also speak at the Healthy Home Academy, including Dutch architect LARS COURAGE.

Lars Courage, Architect

Dutchman Lars Courage could not decide as a young boy whether he wanted to become a fighter pilot or an architect. Today, he laughs and claims that he opted for the latter for practical reasons—he simply wouldn't fit in the small space of a fighter jet. Although he weighs a respectable 140 kilos, he prefers lightweight constructions at work. His passion lies mainly in glass and metal, which he considers excellent solutions for people who want a beautiful house at a reasonable price.

In addition to affordability, he appreciates the transparency of a large amount of daylight. To gain as much as possible, he often works with large glazed surfaces. For his creative work with daylight, he received the prestigious Daylight Award in 2012. He is also the chairman of the Stichting Living Daylights foundation, which supports the optimal use of daylight in built environments and its natural integration into architecture, urbanism, and landscapes.

Come discuss with us and experience an inspiring afternoon in an unusual place. You will get acquainted with the topic of healthy living and interesting people. Enjoy good food and a wine experience served by the "Young Winemakers" association.
