On November 11-12, 2010, the fourth edition of the conference Timber Construction in Practice will be held at the Skalský Dvůr hotel near Bystřice nad Pernštejnem.
The event is intended for professionals from design and construction companies specializing in timber construction. Expert lectures will cover winter and summer energy performance of timber buildings, construction errors, details in certification documentation, design flaws and their implications in practice concerning the thermal-moisture behavior of structures.
Other topics will include healthy composition of structures, preparation and implementation of fire resistance tests, new constructions with panel materials, floor solutions for various substrates, building acoustics, stability of timber buildings, common documentation errors for building permits, facades with open joints, solutions for airtight layers, and many other interesting practical points from the day-to-day activities of construction or design companies.
This year, conference participants will also learn more about communication and negotiation with clients.
All topics will be discussed with a focus on practice, experiences, correct and incorrect procedures, and troubleshooting during the construction of timber buildings.
At the fourth edition of the conference, 22 expert lectures will be presented. Technicians from 25 partner companies will be available throughout the conference to present proper technological solutions, demonstrate material, product, and tool options, as well as appropriate work procedures.
The conference is included in the lifelong learning project of ČKAIT. It is credited with 2 points.
