Custom kitchens are today’s magic word for every carpenter or kitchen studio. And clients? If they have an interior designed by an architect, it is a given that a custom kitchen is part of the interior. Here are seven precise tips on how not to get burned when realizing a kitchen.
We would like to clarify the cliché of “custom kitchens.” As an architect, you create a comprehensive space, and in the case of family housing, the key room is the kitchen, often connected to the living space. A custom kitchen is essentially always designed for this space. Whether you combine a “supermarket” solution or collaborate with carpenters who produce furniture directly to measure based on your design. A well-crafted kitchen is always created from specific modules and based on principles that you must adhere to when designing. Whether you are "assembling" the kitchen in a kitchen studio or carefully tuning it, for example with us at LE BON.
LE BON Kitchens
How do we proceed at LE BON in terms of designing and realizing kitchens? Here are seven fundamental points that you as a client and architect should not overlook when designing a kitchen.
1. Space always decides
Whether you have a hundred-square-meter living room with a kitchen or a more modest layout, the functional connections in the space itself are always the most important. The kitchen is a combination of architecture, technology, craft… and relentless logic. Anyone who has ever cooked a Sunday three-course meal will confirm that every wrong centimeter or doors opening the wrong way is felt very quickly. Plan your kitchen with experts.
2. Materials
An overwhelming variety of materials offers huge possibilities: from classic materials to ultramodern ones: we have written about the use of Corian® for example here. We at LE BON love to use beautiful and durable materials. In the kitchen, this includes for example, glass or stainless steel. Practicality and beauty should be the two main requirements for a kitchen: whether you are an architect or a client.
3. Experience
When we manufacture a kitchen according to an architect’s or interior designer’s design, we know how to work with materials, details, and their connections. Attention to detail is a key and primary hallmark of the Lebon brand. This way, you will save a considerable amount of time during the design because we offer proven solutions that are both technically and aesthetically satisfying. We know that the entire kitchen hinges on well-crafted details.
4. Don’t be afraid of colors
In this realization, we show that in a house where there is enough light, the kitchen space feels airy and bright, even with the use of dark colors. The kitchen cabinet doesn’t have to be just white or in light wood décor. At LE BON, we are bold, just like our clients. Take a look at our kitchen gallery. From gray to wooden to black.
5. Beautiful & practical
For the furniture in this specific kitchen, we used old oak veneer with an unmistakable pattern. The material is created by recycling old oak beams, paired with black and gray surfaces made of durable compact laminate. They are practical, easy to maintain, and do not show fingerprints. For example, the metal structure with shelves that passes through the hood and lighting is the first thing that catches the eye in the kitchen.
6. Craftsmanship and durability
Our technology and the practice of our craftsmen give you the assurance that you will receive top-notch service. Precisely executed details, functional and quality fittings, and all other related materials. We know that LE BON kitchens bring joy to their owners and users. We would love to share that joy with you too.
7. References
Before you dive into a custom kitchen, visit our LE BON showroom in Brno and see for yourself how we fulfill all parameters of quality kitchens in practice. The best reference is personal experience: on our website, you will find not only the kitchen gallery but also a comprehensive blog, where we write in detail about all our principles, details, and tips.
Black kitchen? Why not!
A young married couple originally approached us with the idea of a white kitchen. However, after visiting our Brno showroom, everything changed. Because the house has plenty of light, the kitchen space feels airy and bright, even with dark colors. The furniture uses old oak veneer with an unmistakable pattern created from recycling old oak beams. The black and gray surfaces made of durable compact laminate are easy to maintain and do not show fingerprints. The metal structure with shelves that passes through the hood and lighting is the first thing that grabs attention in the kitchen. The countertop is glass with a satin finish. The island has several additional storage spaces, including an open niche, a wooden drawer, and a flap box, along with the typical LE BON drawer for herbs. Notice the mini wine cellar at the bottom of the island. The robust cupboard serves as a pantry. Shelves are also placed on the doors. By opening the doors, all the wire baskets slide forward – all stored food is thus easily accessible.
