Reconstruction of the Old Directorate of Vítkovice

The object will mainly serve the purpose of administration, and additionally for the placement of a testing and demonstration center for hydraulic machines.
The postal wing is part of the entire area of the Old Directorate of Vítkovice and is thus clearly defined urbanistically.
The addressed object is a reconstruction, nearly a citation of the original state, equipped with architecture from the time of its establishment in modern attire. This is also respected in the overall new surface solutions, where the facades, after insulation, are left in classic plaster. The newly conceived openings are adapted to the overall solution. The original division of windows is preserved.

The building of the old directorate is a construction without historical value but with a number of historical elements reminding of its rich past associated with an even richer history. The object, in the shape of the letter F, will be renovated gradually; however, the design has processed the building as a whole. Important are the surrounding modifications of the object, its connection to the terrain, the overall parking solution, and the connection to the axis of the Vítkovice castle – gas holder.
The roof section is crowned by a viewing restaurant.
So far, the first part of the building has been realized. Due to the static condition and nature of the building as a construction unit, all newly designed structures, such as partitions, walls between individual parts of the building, insulating masonry, extensions of the original masonry, or extensions around windows, have utilized Ytong blocks. Especially for their excellent properties in the area of reconstructions, such as low weight, easy workability, simple handling, and the ability to provide thermal insulation.
