COMINFO, a.s.

Turnstiles equipped with the latest technologies, designed with an emphasis on style – featuring stone cladding, in a historicizing design, futuristically slanted, painted, or in stainless steel. COMINFO can do all of this. That is why leading architects collaborate with this company, and its products can be found in numerous projects around the world.

Every interior requires a different solution and approach. Not all standardized products, offered in the best case in several variants, can be applied in any space without disrupting its overall appearance. That’s why many architects or designers welcome the possibility of custom manufacturing, whether it’s for furniture or other furnishings. From the standpoint of its function, the turnstile is an indispensable component of many administrative or public buildings, but if a particular structure deviates from the standard in its execution, it may not be easy to naturally integrate this element into the interior.

COMINFO, which has more than thirty years of experience in the production of turnstiles and attendance and identification systems, allows architects to realize even more demanding contracts based on specific requirements. It’s not just about the color or surface treatment of the turnstile, but also integrated technologies, lighting, branding (company logo in the area for card placement or sandblasted onto the glass wing of the turnstile), and especially the shape, material, and overall processing. Architects have the option to choose, for example, a rounded or square shape for the front of the turnstile, standard or ultra-thin widths for the turnstile body, solid or glazed side panels, and can freely adjust the width of the passage.

Material options and color finish offer

Turnstiles from COMINFO are typically delivered in brushed stainless steel. One of the premium options is powder coating according to the RAL color chart or special surface treatment in the form of galvanically coated steel or cladding made from natural and artificial stone (Corian) or wood. An example of a less traditional surface finish is the visually "golden" turnstiles in the lobby of the National Theatre in Prague, coated with titanium nitride, which harmonize in color with other elements of the interior, or patinated brass covers that were applied to turnstiles in the multifunctional building The Flow Building on Wenceslas Square in Prague (2022, Chapman Taylor).

Light and sound navigation for better orientation

Light navigation or sound effects, whose primary function is to facilitate passage for employees or visitors through the turnstile, can also be designed with attention to aesthetics and support the desired atmosphere. Light signaling can take the form of LED arrows on the front of the turnstile to guide users to the correct passage, while the upper panel or the glass wings of the turnstile can also be illuminated. The turnstile can also be backlit in the company's colors.

Fully equipped turnstile

Although the design options are nearly limitless, it should not be forgotten that the turnstile primarily serves a security function. COMINFO can equip each device with a variety of technologies, such as card and QR code readers, biometric terminals, emergency buttons, card catchers, or systems for automatically calling the elevator. Technologies are most often integrated directly into the body of the turnstile to avoid disrupting its design (the so-called flush mounting method).

3D visualization using augmented reality

Architects can also use the augmented reality application turnstileART, through which they can create 3D visualizations of various turnstile models directly in the specific interior, helping them in planning and achieving the most suitable design solution for the particular space.
