With SOLARLUX folding walls, the boundaries between interior and exterior disappear. Having the ability to enjoy ample natural light in living spaces is the wish of most homeowners.
Owners of older houses can easily achieve this with folding walls that can effortlessly open up a large portion of the exterior wall. In many living spaces of older family homes, it appears that there is a large window with a sill and a radiator underneath, with narrow glazed doors next to it serving as a passage to the terrace and garden. And even if the window is several meters wide, it still sits firmly in the wall. This makes the living space seem stiff, the masonry absorbs a large amount of light, and the garden is truly separated from the interior space.
However, with relatively little effort, such a living space can easily be transformed to let in more light. Folding walls ensure that sunlight penetrates the room from floor to ceiling across its entire width. The narrow profiles of the folding walls allow for panoramic views of the landscape even when fully closed. When the weather is nice, they can be quickly opened with a few movements. To make the transition from the living room to the outside comfortable and free from tripping hazards, the floor profiles are barrier-free.
The German manufacturer SOLARLUX specializes in folding walls, sliding windows, terrace roofing, and conservatories. Each individual product is individually planned and custom-made. This ensures that each folding wall can be perfectly integrated into any building. Folding walls are available with profiles made of aluminum, wood, or both, depending on personal preferences. They can achieve heights up to 3.8 meters with almost any width and, if necessary, around corners. They also have excellent insulation values, sound insulation, and a certified burglary protection class RC2.
Well Insulated!
Sitting outside day after day, no matter how cold it is outside. A conservatory is an amazing thing. However, it is important to focus on thermal insulation so that the enjoyment of cold days is not diminished by high energy costs. As an extension to the house, a conservatory has to withstand a lot. Especially when it is quite uncomfortable outside. To maintain its appeal even on cold days and to be available as living space, heating is necessary.
Triple glazing is essential for a new conservatory to meet the energy requirements for new buildings. In an old building, where energy-saving requirements are lower, double glazing may suffice. On the contrary, quadruple glazing is not recommended. The acquisition costs are higher and promise only minimal improvements in energy efficiency compared to triple glazing. Instead, it is more worthwhile to appropriately design the shape and location of the conservatory to make use of heat from solar radiation.
The insulated facade of the house usually retains heating energy in the living room better than a glazed wall. However, the conservatory does not necessarily have to be worse off in the annual energy balance. The sun allows this - it can warm the conservatory in winter and thus reduce heating costs. If it is too cold or the solar energy alone is insufficient, the conservatory needs appropriate heating. If you do not use the conservatory intensively, you can separate it from the other living areas with a folding glass wall from SOLARLUX.
The folding wall from SOLARLUX will also work excellently indoors. It offers sufficient insulation without obstructing the view outside. The panels of the folding wall can be folded to the side to save space. As a result, the conservatory and the house blend back into one whole. Open or closed, there will always be plenty of daylight in the living spaces.
