Pardubice - The City of Pardubice will begin designing a pedestrian connection from Labská Street to the banks of the Chrudimka River. This was decided by the councilors today. However, there is a hot water line in the area, and the city hall will be looking for a technical solution with the company Elektrárny Opatovice.
"Twenty years ago, a connection was made between Tyršovy sady and Labská Street around the tennis courts, which was an investment project of the municipal district I. Another part of the connection between Tyršovy sady and the riverbank of the Chrudimka was also considered, but it was not realized," stated the presenter of the report and opposition councilor Petr Klimpl (ODS).
The pedestrian path could lead through a gap between family houses, but the land is currently fenced and overgrown. It belongs to the city, so they can build the path there. This would create a connector from Tyršovy sady and the castle, allowing people to reach the banks of the Chrudimka more quickly and cross the footbridge to the park Na Špici.
One of the options is to run the hot water line underground. The city will negotiate with the power plant about the technical possibilities, and a meeting is planned soon.
