What should schools for the 21st century look like? What influence do educational spaces have on both students and teachers? And can school buildings themselves transmit cultural values and support sustainability? The public debate will raise questions about the new requirements for school architecture and its connection to modern pedagogical approaches. Together, we will discuss how the school environment shapes our upbringing and education, how to design an energy-active school that meets current needs, and why it is important to incorporate greenery, internal gardens, and green roofs into school spaces. The debate will begin with a short film screening about the Spanish school **Reggio**. The film presents a visionary project of a school designed by Andrés Jaque, one of the most provocative architects today, working in the Office for Political Innovation, who has a number of experimental realizations behind him. The innovative school project is an inspiring example of how architecture can influence education and children's relationship with their environment.

The debate will feature: ●      Hana Šišková – councilor of the Prague 7 municipality for education, schooling, and investments; ●      Ondřej Tuček – architect and educator at the Faculty of Architecture CTU in Prague; ●      Daniel Pražák – educator and advocate for teaching.

The event will be moderated by Barbora Špičáková, historian, curator, and art gallery owner at VIPER.

The event is free as part of the 11th edition of the festival Open House Praha 2025 (May 12–18, 2025), which opens the city to everyone. The debate is part of this year's thematic line "Schools for Future Generations." Due to capacity reasons, we recommend registering for the event in advance here.
