Offcity architekti: přednáška Jakub Cigler

In April, as part of this year's lecture and discussion cycle OFFCITY ARCHITECTS, we introduced the first of four members of the advisory body of the City Council, whose task is to assist with important decisions in the context of the architectural and urban development of our city. The second invited expert from this group is architect Jakub Cigler. What is his relationship with Pardubice? And what are his visions?
After graduating from the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague, Jakub Cigler worked for a time in London, and since 2001 he has been leading the firm Jakub Cigler Architekti (JCA) in Prague. As stated on his office's website, JCA managed to position itself among the leading Czech studios focused on progressive architecture immediately after its establishment. Their realizations and projects have succeeded in several architectural competitions and are regularly presented in professional periodicals. For its work, the JCA office has received numerous awards both domestically and internationally (e.g., the Dušan Jurkovič Award awarded by the Slovak Architects' Association, the International Design Awards, and the Best Office Development award). The studio is also one of the founding members of the Czech Green Building Council.
